Příběh Jasona
I have been at Magic Hill since 2017 and I was referred by a friend who was teaching here at the time. It would be easy to say that I work here because the pay is good, I needed a job, and that I wanted to be a part of the team, but what really matters to me is that at Magic Hill there is a collaborative approach, I know that my ideas are listened to, and the school shares the same common values that I look for in a work environment.
I enjoy coming to work every day knowing that I get to work with like-minded individuals who have a positive outlook on educating the generation of tomorrow. I would recommend Magic Hill to those who are interested in continuing to develop their teaching skills and methods, forming good relationships with colleagues and students, while maintaining a positive attitude.
During a typical day at Magic Hill I spend time planning fun engaging interactive lessons for the next day/week, or grading projects/spelling/monthly tests while teaching 4 lessons on average. There is time in my day where I can talk with other colleagues, share ideas or information, work on administrative tasks or my continuing education.
My mission as a teacher can be summed up by a quote from Haim Ginott: “I’ve come to a frightening conclusion that I am the decisive element in the classroom. It’s my personal approach that creates the climate. It’s my daily mood that makes the weather. As a teacher, I possess a tremendous power to make a child’s life miserable or joyous. I can be a tool of torture or an instrument of inspiration. I can humiliate or heal. In all situations, it is my response that decides whether a crisis will be escalated or de-escalated and a child humanized or dehumanized.”
In short my job as a teacher is to make sure that in my classes, my lessons are a safe place for a student to learn, explore, create, and express their identity.
If you feel this is a world you would like to be a part of please come to our school and we will be happy to show that it works.
