Kristyna’s story

I joined Magic Hill in 2017. After eleven years working in marketing at a dynamic outdoor multinational, I was looking for a change, a job that would be more fulfilling and give me a deeper sense of purpose.
Perhaps the biggest motivation for why I love working at Magic Hill is the great team. We are a team with a common vision, where we help each other, share ideas and common values that we want to pass on not only to our students but also to each other. We don’t lack a sense of humour, we can not only laugh together but lighten up the often difficult situations and support each other when things don’t go to plan.

Another reason why I enjoy working at school is that it is meaningful, creative and gives me the opportunity to have an impact. Our teaching is not just about ‘curriculum’, we have the space to engage our own ideas, try new methods and contribute to our pupils growing into responsible and confident young people.
Personally, I am also motivated by the linking of PE learning with primary prevention and the school’s overall concern for pupils’ wellbeing. It makes me happy to see them acquire new skills such as cooperation, mutual respect, the ability to cope with challenging situations, as well as skills such as managing emotions and taking care of their own body and mind.
And because being a teacher is not always easy, I am glad that the school partly takes care of the wellbeing of us teachers. For example, we have a relaxation room at our school, a cosy corner where we can relax and “recharge our batteries”. Our school regularly organises team-building events that bring us together as a collective and bring new impulses to our work.
